The intro to this week's episode indicates Vera is two years younger than Rose. Rose's has a 16 year old daughter, which would make Rose around 34-38 years old, assuming Rose married between ages 18 and 21. That would make Vera around 32-34 years old.

Nowadays we think nothing of women exhibiting their sexuality after the age of 30, even after becoming widowed. Would this be the case in during WWII? Wouldn't Vera be 8-10 years older than the American soldiers in the bar, and would it make sense that they'd be interested?

The only time men, especially military, would not be interested is after they are dead. 

Yes, gorbals, and the scene for a kind of anything goes where women were concerned in that village was what Rose's husband said when speaking of the military men stationed there--that some hadn't seen a woman in months.

(I think he probably meant other than the one or two women on their own post.) Vera was a sexy woman, so a few years probably wouldn't make the storyline unrealistic.

Also, not every airman was 22. Varying ages would have put many in her range.

Don’t know about airmen specifically but the average age of U.S. soldiers in WWII was 26.
