Was that article supposed to be a joke?

I paused the movie and read the news article on the wall about the mother winning a bronze medal. It was hilariously full of grammatical and spelling errors--at least a dozen. It was as if one of the movie producers allowed his or her child to write the fake article, and they purposely did not edit it, just so the audience could get a laugh out of it. If that is not the case, then the people working on this movie are REALLY dumb or just don't take the time to edit their work.
