The coach was just as big a jerk as the players were

No wonder the players ran reckless with their sideline behavior. It all starts at the top and Buddy Hopkins had just as big a mouth as the players. He started a fight with a referee and was suspended 2 games. when Mississippi Delta was chirping before the final game he was already alluding to running up the score and showing them up. He should have expected retaliation at some point.

Then to curse out his players for them helping out their teammate DJ Law who was getting stomped on and running onto the field. Calling them Thugs and Rednecks He was a giant douche.

I have only seen the first two episodes and just started 3...came here to see if I'm the only one who thinks his coach is a total POS. He has been carried by talent, but teaching these guys to be men - he can't do that...cuz he doesn't know. He just loses his cool and pouts when someone brings him water instead of Gatorade.

Not setting a good example for boys who need a man.

he gets worse. couldn't stand him by the 6th and final episode.

The coach needs to grow up fast. I was honestly a little surprised he didn't get fired for the ref incident and then the season ending incident. The only reason he wins is because of the recruits he gets. I thought the team actually did better in his absence those two games.

The head coach came off as a total scum bag.

He got suspended for two games for shoving a referee, almost got arrested the night of the brawl, and overreacted with the verbal abuse countless times. He was completely out of line when it came to his tirade after the brawl and it was under his "leadership" that the brawl happened. The blame lies totally with him. No wonder he is coaching JUCO football in the middle of nowhere, and really, he doesn't even deserve to be doing that.

The other coaches came off as far more professional. They could instill discipline without being overly abusive.

The kids...well...they are just kids. I came into this series expecting a lot of them to have numerous problems, otherwise, why would they be there? There were some good stories mixed in there.

At the end DJ Law was blaming himself for the brawl which I agree with. When he got up after being tackled he slapped the other guy's helmet, then he started getting his ass stomped which led to his team getting involved. Even if he slapped the other player's helmet in retaliation, coach had told them to be mentally strong, but DJ didn't listen. So yes DJ, feel guilty.

Coach did screw up calling his players thugs, though. Liked seeing him stick up for his team, even challenging the other head coach to a fight (which none of his players saw because they were too busy pouting and running thier mouthes). Also liked seeing him curse out the cops that threatened to arrest his player. But player in the #2 Jersey was annoying whiny punk. Coach talks, just shut the hell up. #2 shoulda been the one getting stomped on.

You can blame DJ Law all you want but it's the coach who taught them to provoke people. Their coach is one of the worst human beings I've seen in sports in a long time. Zero leadership by example - instead he says to kids who are already relegated to JC to be tough and not fight back while talking out the other side of his mouth that they need to run the score up.

Hey guys - I'm gonna put gas in this roaring fire and I'm gonna send y'all into the fire but don't get burned...

*beep* idiot = coach buddy

He's a great coach in an era of whiny, immature spoiled children playing football. 40 years ago he would have been the norm, now you can't coach kids for fear of being sued, attacked and fired because a bunch of mommies don't like your coaching style. Sad but true

It's called coaching bro. Weak stay on the sidelines.

No *beep* Clearly none of these folks played ball. A good coach goes to war for you.
