I know that Diane, Lucca, and Sarah will be part of the main cast. However I wonder if other good wife characters will return in a guest capacity.

I would love to see Carrie Preston return.
I would also love to see Martha Plimpton, Mamie Gummer and especially Parker Posey, since Marissa is going to be a bigger role, it'd be fun to see Posey return as her mother.
Also Jeffrey Tambor and some of the other judges, to cement this version of Chicago.
I would love for alicia and diane to get proper closure. It would be nice to see robin come back after her sudden disappearance.

shareSince it says on its IMDB page that it's about Diane at 'Stern, Lockheart and Gardner' I would like to see Will back. I'm not sure how they would pull it of, but any chance of him back on my tv would be welcome.

But PLEASE let it become a spin-off in its own right! No sequel to the TGW necessary - which I loved so much, but which is over & out. Period.
As much as this could well be a stand alone show, it's really going to have to take off to not be cancelled.
While the existing characters legacy will resonate with TGW viewers, everything is going to be gauged against its peak despite this being a new show in its own right.
I'm hopeful it works as I like the characters that are in the new show but I've a feeling it could see a season or two before everyone realises why TGW was cancelled, it hasn't hit the massive heights TGW did and then it fizzles out.
Hopefully not though but I've seen enough reasonable shows cancelled for simply not being the next Friends / LA Law immediately.
