Hannah

Why was Hannah not among the children who were rescued? I must have missed something, somewhere.

reply

When Mrs Lawrence took June to the school, the eyes found out about it and the family Hannah was with got transferred somewhere far away. They also hung the Marthas, etc. who helped the plan and made June pull the rope.

reply

Thank you. It'll be a long time before we find out what happens.

I was more confused by the fact that June was willing to leave. I thought for sure she wasn't gonna leave without Hannah. I guess she finally reached the end of her rope? Still, all of this was to get Hannah out.

reply

I'm not sure she ever planned to get on the plane. But she needed to make sure she was sending the others to safety. Especially after the Martha who ran away got caught.

reply

From what she said to Joseph, it seemed like she was intent on never coming back. If that wasn't to get on the plane, fair. If she was predicting her own failure and thus death, also fair. But if she wasn't planning on coming back and the mission succeeded, where was she planning on going?

reply

I'm going to have to watch the last episode again. I must have gotten distracted, because I'm not sure what happened.

reply

Def worth it. She exchanged a few words with Joseph, which seemed like a pretty obvious goodbye.

reply

June wasn't going to leave on the plane. She was planning to stay in Gilead, but either she would die in the kidnap mission, or be transferred to another commander's house (assuming she doesn't end up on the Wall).
