Deanna Troi!

Nice to see Marina Sirtis again

Took me awhile to place her. I haven't seen her in anything in forever. Funny because I also watched a show recently with Johnathan Frakes and hadn't seen him in forever either.

I knew that Penelope was familiar, but I did not recognize Marina

reply

Yes, she's aged well.

This past weekend I got to see and talk with Marina Sirtis because she appeared at a comicon here. She is very funny at Q&As because of the stories she has to tell and how she gives her brash opinions on everything. In person she's the polar opposite of Penelope in this movie and Counselor Troi from TNG.

She has aged very gracefully. On actresses from her generation getting plastic surgery she said the results are hideous and "make you look like a burn victim caught in a wind tunnel" and she stretched back her face with her fingers and teetered backward to dramatize her point. She also doesn't mind being a little heavier these days insinuating that actresses her age who are rail-thin look like scarecrows with tits.

When she said she was in a Hallmark movie and that it was showing tonight (last night) I tuned in eagerly. I expected her to have a walk-on or grandmother role, but she had lots of screen time as Penelope and was one of the really important characters in the story. As her fan I was delighted and look forward to seeing her again at possibly a TNG 30th reunion conference next year or another nifty little movie like this one.
