I mean seriously? I'm pretty sure even the cast and crew knows that the movies aren't screenplay masterpiece. Hallmark movies are there for leisure feel good watch. Watch it for that and stop whinging.
Anyway, anyone disappointed with the ending of this movie? I wish there was a dramatic big gesture by the Prince lol
I doubt that too many people "expect greatness". But is it too much to ask for "half-way decent?" Hallmark has even done some really good romantic movies that I would watch more than once. It is rare that they tick all of the boxes, but if they can just manage to check off some of them: appealing actors, good chemistry between the leads, good humor, good writing, maybe a twist (or at least a wander off the beaten path), or a heart-tugging moment, they can be a good way to spend 2 hours. Often they will have 2 or even 3 of the above but still fail because of a major stumble. For me, it's usually a casting problem. Often, with Hallmark, it is a 50 year old actress trying to play a 30 year old.
shareHallmark has always failed to tick those boxes off though, they rarely get it right. So complaining about the movies every time a new one releases becomes an annoyance after some time. Casting issues, I can understand, but people expect greatness from the writing and direction, which is simply put an idiotic expectations.
