I honestly don't watch this show, but for its upcoming episode, I seriously hope it doesn't become the next "Intimidation Game", the controversial Law & Order: SVU episode that felt like propaganda against gamers. All I know is that this episode involves a professional eSports gamer and that's it.

I didn't know if it was real either. I just read your post and decided to "google" it and what do you know? Not only is it a real game, but version 2 just came out in October. Guess I just got educated. I'm not a gamer, so no surprise that I missed that. My gaming days started with "Pong" and ended sometime after my daughter was born.

Well, the only gaming system I ever owned was an Atari 5200, though sometimes on visits I'll play some Mario Kart with my nieces and nephew. Online gaming was limited to text based MUDs in the 90's.
Oddly for a product placement they didn't refer to Titan Fall 2 which you would have thought would have been what they were pushing.
shareThere have been interesting commentary about this episode from gamers - mostly positive and recognizing the show had some awareness and tried to get it right while still having to 'make do' with certain things for TV - and Purge said he was able to get a few fixes into the script where the writer went with an inaccurate stereotype.
