Beards and botox
Enough with the beards, unless they are necessary for roles. They look gross. Casey Affleck's and Chris Pine's in particular.
Nicole Kidman has way too much botox. So does Sarah Jessica Parker.
Both trends suck.
Agreed. Hollywood is getting stranger and stranger. After reading who the TV winners were tonight, and I hadn't even heard of some of the shows, I'm wondering who does the voting. Good shows are ignored, while the shows no one watches are given awards. It is still supposed to be entertainment, right. Viewership for TV is going down the drain. Maybe they should put on some shows we want to watch. Not just "artistic " shows America doesn't want.

And that is not where it ends. Last year's Golden Globes, they seem to give every award to minority directors and foreign films. I think they are all paid off by special interests anyway.
It makes sense if you think about it. Who votes for these nominations and winners? A board of people. The audience, the American middle class, has very little say in who wins. The best we can do is guess what movies, WE WATCHED AND SPENT OUR HARD MONEY ON, the board will pick.

This isn't new. They use it partly for publicity for failing shows they think should receive more acclaim. These awards shows just continue to highlight how out of touch Hollywood is with the rest of the world, which is why nobody watches them anymore. share
