Mario Borges phrase

Mario said a popular known phrase but with a variation on one of the chapters and I can't remember it. The popular phrase is "Cuando usted iba por X yo ya venia con Y", in english is something like "When you were going I was already coming".

Does anyone remembers it?

He says: "Cuando Dios dijo ^que se haga la luz^, Borges ya debía dos facturas". It says: When God said ´let there be light´, I already owed two months.
He refers to himself as Borges, 3rd person singular.
