At the end of the game an Umbrella soldier removes his helmet and says "I'm Redfield", but why would Chris join Umbrella? He spent the last 2 decades fighting Umbrella, and now he joins them? Why? Or could it be an imposter posing as Chris? Thoughts?

shareIt is strange. That's definitely not Chris. I noticed that it 'confirmed' it was Chris in the credits, but it's too much of a departure from his look. I'd understand if they were reinventing the character, but even in the new RE:Vendetta trailer he looks like RE5 Chris, with a bit of the original look from the cover of the original RE.
Something is off about it. The DLC will apparently shed some light on a lot of things over the period of release.

There is many theories he present himself as Redfield but those that played RE 5 knows he prefer Chris.
Some say after comparing a face of Hunk reflected in darkside or umbrella chronicle that is Hunk trying to trick Ethan that he is Chris.
Another is that during Vendetta movie we will get too see a darker side of Chris and he might be the head of the new umbrella.
Another theory is that is indeed Chris but changed model as that is not uncommon for the character to get new model.
But if it is chris still not explaine why he is with Umbrella and not BSAA.
Some say the dlc is gonna be named not a hero.
So whetever it is Chris or not..It will not be the character's best side shown.
"Not a Hero" could simply mean he is not a hero anymore. For some reason he could be with Umbrella. Maybe as a double Agent. I hope Vendetta will explain this. Maybe Chris and Leon will be Enemies by the end of the Film. Resident Evil: Civl War hahahaha.
shareUmbrella has been rebuilt, by they people who destroyed it. This time they're fighting the good fight, going after anything related to bio weapons. Chris was probably put in charge of the new organization. they even changed their logo, gave it a different color too. it's chris, new look much like the new look he had in RE5 when he got all beefed up. Maybe it's a running joke with Capcom now.

They could go a number of ways with this. The free DLC coming this spring will hopefully answer all questions. Maybe even that new movie, Vendetta, will have some answers as well.
