Plot Hole

So they retrieve the bullet from the tree in the woods with the mystery persons blood on it who was with Le Saux when he was killed.

A simple DNA test would flag it up IMMEDIATELY that the bullets blood belonged to the cop.....and that she was also his daughter.

Are we meant to pretend that this technology doesn't exist for the sake of the plot line?

reply

A simple DNA test on the blood on the bullet would flag it up IMMEDIATELY that the blood belonged to a genetic offspring of Le Saux. That part is easy !!! Beyond that.... how on earth would they know it specifically belonged to Nancy unless Nancy's DNA profile was already on their database, which it obviously wasn't and there would be no reason for it to be. The offspring, as far as the police would be concerned could be anyone !

All police officers and there dna are put in the database when becoming active in law enforcement. Thus avoiding and eliminating any mystery dna appearing at crime scenes from officers investigating.

No they don't

Not I the UK to my knowledge, so that's not such an issue. However, How a 9mm round can enter a runner at maybe 3 feet can end up at least 10 feet up a tree and only 1/2 inch into a pine tree beggars belief!
