More like another American network too cheap to pay for their own material. CBS is more guilty than the others. It had Flashpoint, The Listener and Saving Hope. All got cancelled quickly except Flashpoint which CBS billed as a summer series. It lasted a few years playing that way. ABC tried Motive and Rookie Blue. Despite being cancelled by the US networks they continued in Canada for several more seasons. Not sure about Rookie Blue since it was only cancelled in the US recently.
These Canadian series don't do well on Network TV but do seem to on cable. All the CBS series got picked up by ION. Motive got picked up by USA. Syfy has a whole host of Canadian series.
I don't trust people who don't like pets and I don't trust people who pets don't like. share
I didn't know this was Canadian. Perhaps that answers the question on another thread about why CBS had not publicized this new show at all.
One thing of note, looks like Canada (like the U.S.) have their actors speak with an American accent even after they cast a Brit. Why?! Most Americans find an English accent appealing.
