The trailer looks great but so close to the premiere I have yet to see an ad on CBS or a cast member on late night.... at least Colbert or Corden. I'm a fan of Nazneen Contractor. If I wasn't following up on her latest project, I wouldn't have known about Ransom. For the first original programming on Saturday night in a long time, I would expect CBS to highlight their new show a lot more. I hope the show does well in spite of that.

The answer is simple. Because it's a Canadian production. A cheap way to fill a time slot over the winter hiatus ala Rookie Blue, Saving Hope, and Flashpoint before that.

shareThat's what I don't understand. Many of these "filler" shows from Toronto are well received and are eventually renewed for multiple seasons. I think part of the promotion problem with Ransom is that CBS scheduled it for a bad slot and does not think it will last long.

Exactly. US networks don't really give a **** how they do, just filler. At least many such shows arent cancelled just because they're yanked by networks down here.

I saw a fair amount of promos for it. It's why I remembered to dvr it. Maybe it depends on how often you have the channel on. We never have it on CBS late night, only primetime.
