That one orphan kid didn't age at all ?

What was the deal with that one orphan kid (Tiger?) not having aged at all when the other two orphans were 10 years or so older.

Was there some explanation for this?

reply

It bothered me too. I don't get it.

Jennifer was supposed to be fifteen though the actress looks older. Also Gordon was about the same age as Jennifer and Tiger when they were all in the orphanage. But he looks older than she does. Has anyone read the books?

reply

Gordon is a con-man. He never was in the orphanage.

As for Tiger--in the books and in the film was a strong hint at Dickensian malnutrition, so his slower growth can be explained.

The actress for older Jennifer is in her early twenties.

The book ist so full of characters, explanations and outrageous locations--impossible to film that even on a big budget, even less on a tv-budget.

Jennifer did say to him that he hadn't changed at all, so it seems intentional. The other one, Gordon described himself as the older kid g-g-Gordon. So it seems that although anomalous they covered it in the dialogue, but it doesn't explain why.

They did say he was sent back 3 times, thinking it was magical that he didn't age. If he was sent back for misbehaving maybe he had to restart at the same age?
