Geiseric lived to be 88 years old!

Geiseric, the Vandal king who sacked Rome in 455 A.D., lived until 477 and his son succeeded him upon his death. He survived two more attempts by both the Eastern and Western Roman Empires to reconquer the North African territories where the Vandal Kingdom was located in 461 and 468. Since most histories give the year of his birth as 389 A.D., he would have been 88 when he died. He was king of the Vandals for almost a half-century (428-277).
