The Air Base

She does a USO show at an air base in December of 1959, and all but one of the planes are from WWII. There is one Korean War era jet. There are no Air Force guys, they're all Army. The chorus is doing a tap dance routine like early 1930s Busby Berkeley. In the barracks, somebody is playing a record of "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition", a novelty tune from 1942.

Overall, the show seems more like 1940 than the late 1950s. Why is there so much brown? I remember 1959. It wasn't any more brown than 2019.
