Anyone heard anything about part 3?

I really enjoyed the first one, enjoyed the second one as well. Was hoping for part 3 to be completed. I did read a blog post on the official site where it started production, but was having problems, and that was a really old blog post.

If the precipitous decline in quality & intelligence of Part 2 is any indication, we can only hope that there never is a Part 3. The original film was smart, thought-provoking, and moving. The totally unnecessary sequel tried to turn the premise into a hackneyed story about an immortal fugitive on the run, with a possible immortal serial killer somewhere in the background. I shudder to think where another one might go ...

That is of course assuming that the mysterious government agent (?) at the end was telling the truth, and that he wasn't just making up a story to try to flush out John by getting Art to give him up under the guise of such a government agent actually being concerned about public safety...illustrating an example of the real-world reality of Johns comment in the first movie about being wary of ending up in a lab for a thousand years while cigarette smoking men tried to figure him out.

Now that's a good point!

In part 3 it turns out that there are a lot more of them, and they do battle with swords to behead each other and steal one anothers' life essences as part of an age-old quest to gain the ultimate prize in a time of gathering when there are only a few of these immortals left.

There can be only one! ⚔️

The second one was so bad I would not even begin to consider watching a third one.

The original movie was really outstanding. Fun and intriguing and thought-provoking
all at the same time. I loved it. Nothing about the second one did I like. It was like
a high-school play trying to mimic the original movie ... it just hurt to watch.
