Pissed off about the finale

Is that all there is to it? Seriously? They explain it all away in some hypothetical narrative based on a psychic's impressions? I'm sorry there is more to this than meets the eye. What about the place where satanic rituals were practiced? Too many loose ends. Lame, lame, lame. I'm disappointed in you, Nick.

reply

Very lame and way to scripted.

reply

So you watched all six episodes anyway?

And Kurt, the fanboi rears his head once more.

Yet you're the one that claims to have seen numerous paranormal shows, declared them to be frauds, and yet continue to watch alleged 'frauds'.

Still waiting for the explanation for that wasted time.

reply

The show was compelling in the beginning but they wanted a linear narrative to the whole thing so they built up this phony theory based on a psychic's impressions. So yeah, I'm pissed about how they wrapped the whole thing up. Lame, lame, lame.

reply

bye, bye, bye

reply

Oh Kurt. Let me play my violin for you. For such a small, little fanboi like you must be so sad that you have such a great burden freaking out like a rabid idiot whenever someone has anything critical to say.

Is this another laden sexual reference?

someone has anything critical to say.

I really don't have anything against CONSTRUCTIVE critical remarks. But you don't even know the names of the people in this series or anything about them. { Again...the name of the psychic medium is...?}

So lets explore an obvious question: Are you suggesting in your far fetched conspiracy theory that Chief King and the entire town police department is also aiding and abetting in a fraud conspiracy?

Just curious if you think he'd put his career on the line for a few measly cable channel bucks. Because then you'd be getting into the dirty cop accusation theory too.

Assuming you came to this board to discuss the series, or just to met guys?

reply

I came in here to discuss the show, you little fanboi pissant. But you got your feelings hurt when I commented on the chain smoking psychic

Remember that? Remember your fanboi stupid comment

reply

I really don't care if someone on a show smokes or not. Frankly I didn't notice. I'm not understanding why a smoker would be the center of your attention "to discuss the show."

Most viewers were interested in putting the pieces of the puzzle together to resolve the mystery. Regardless whether the show is fact or fiction to each viewer, solving the mystery is the viewer challenge.

But this is the same board where members stated: "I think Elizabeth is mean, because her eyebrows make her look mean."

Wow...thank you for that intellectually stimulating opinion. And you think I'm the troll.

For the record, I think Chief King is very honest. He had nothing to do with the phony theory. I also think the whole team was basically honest. I have great respect for Nick in particular. However, I do feel that they were forcefed this phony theory so they can wrap the show up with a bow. I have news for you, multiple hauntings are not concluded by throwing some tokens into the water. That is not how one fixes those sort of things. Surely, you know enough about the subject to know that. If only it were that easy.

I would tend to agree, but I also know that many paranormal groups try a variety of potential solutions. I'm a fan of 'The Dead Files', and what Elizabeth does isn't going to be the same solutions as what I've come to expect from Amy A. Meaning: I'll tolerate some creative latitude from various paranormal groups, and still enjoy the show even for entertainment purposes. I've talked with Elizabeth and she knows that she's coming under fire. Having said that, I'm still impressed with the equipment she's designed on her web site. It's nice to see women involved in the engineering aspects of investigation.

I'm very much aware of that, and I agreed with the member that stated that using a Ouija Board is high risk.

But the essence of my argument is against the all encompassing assumption that the entire team and show stinks, or they're all crooked. I've seen Elizabeth do some really good work, and some measure of controversy.

Contrary to adolescent assumption theories, I'm not the fan-boy claiming the world of the paranormal investigation is purely black and white.

reply

I'm in no way criticizing Elizabeth unlike others on this forum. I knew nothing about her before this show. Same goes with Bill. People can be unnecessarily cruel but that comes as no surprise to anyone that has been on internet forums for any length of time.

I was just so disappointed in the ending. I would have preferred that the team kept their options open and maybe returned for a 2nd season to continue the investigation instead of wrapping it up the way they did. What the producers decided to do was wrong and I'm glad to see that Nick wasn't a producer on this show.

I love the Dead Files too. That is currently my favorite show.

Good insights.

Thank you.

You're welcome! Nice chatting with you.

I watch these sort of shows for their entertainment value and I usually don't watch having any sort of expectations, although every now and then various shows find evidence that's pretty compelling.I enjoyed GOS,even if the explanation for the hauntings in the finale was a bit of a stretch.Too,I think there will be a season two because of the Hitchcockian twist at the very end where the camera zooms in on the baby booty floating along the river.

reply

Very good points.

reply

Well,I agree with you when you say if you don't like it,don't watch. If you take issue with something just give it a contructive critique and if you disagree with somebody at least disagree agreeably.

reply

Not sure I follow your point, but some people on here are trolls who haven't seen the episodes or object to Elizabeth's eyes or brows. I'm not real fond of that kind of critique or attitude.

........................What was the topic again? I had to filter through so much BS, I forgot the point.

I agree, the show was compelling for the first 3 episodes. Then I got tired of Nick asking Eliz. Saint, "are you OK?" She was truly worthless as a "sensitive" whatever that is. I quit the show after she started crying in the basement(4th episode I think) and didn't quite know why. Their over use of the Mel-meter to evaluate everything was tiresome. I think Nick Groff is pursuing money and not ghosts. His other show is a 'stinker' too.

reply

My wife and I and a few others are paranormal? investigators from Washington Green Mountain paranormal and this show is a sad excuse for ghost hunting it's just stupid I mean come on really everywhere they go with paranormal stuff give me a break. Paranormal investigation does not happen that way. you always look for other reasons besides the Paranormal, and you don't get nothing most of the time it all can be explained, and this is scripted and this is fake fake fake and all you others think it's really get a life in the real world.
