Since 2016, Legendary has been a subsidiary of the Chinese conglomerate Wanda Group.

No friggin wonder. I was wondering why more recent Legendary movies I've seen had Asian actors and stuff. I guess they're the group that mixes Chinese actors with International or more or less American ones. And here I thought they were selling out even though they're based in Burbank, California.

Kong: Skull Island
Pacific Rim Uprising
Skyscrapper

Godzilla: King of the Monsters since it has Zhang Ziyi

Also, Skyscrapper, watch once, entertaining waste of time, forget few days later. Similar to Ant-man and The Wasp. One time watch that isn't really worth a second watch.

Yeah, I thought this movie really only worked as comedy. The insane amount of luck these characters have just ruins any suspense the film may possess.

You are watching Rocks movie and you dont automatically expect comedy and mindless action? You got your expectations wrong dude.

Chinese financing has infused Hollywood productions for several years now. Increased theater attendance in China and Russia has fueled an appetite for the kind of derivative mainline fare that Western audiences have been tired of for ages.

Pretty much. When they droned out the American audience who only see generic repeats of the more or less the same stuff and not getting the profit margins they're wanting, Hollywood will start outsourcing to our rivals/enemies (since they're part of the CCP because of communism though I love Asian cinema films) to tap into that billion plus population market while selling out some of their intellectual properties in doing so. Funny thing is, Western films have little success over there as with Asian films here (that are mostly in Mandarin and I see 1-2 of them in our theater listing every month or so).

I love Asians, especially Asian women. I just don't like companies selling out or trying to make a country we're adversaries with pro-propaganda is all. I mean check out Independence Day 2 for goodness sakes.

What country are we enemies with? We are not really enemies with China anymore.

Depends on where you're from. US has always been adversaries with China.

China does a lot of adversarial stuff towards US and there is a more or less cold war going on betwen the two nations, meanwhile Europe is still dealing with Russians as threat, though not so much through military as through propaganda nowadays.
