I enjoyed this movie but I think their choice of the actress that played Jessica was off...she didn't seem to fit the part at all IMO

Well, I hate to be piling on about Jessica Lowndes, but I know exactly what you mean. I can't put my finger on it, but it's like she is an android or something.

It's strange because in the first season of '90210' she actually showed some promise as an actress. In subsequent seasons her character changed and became vacuous and annoying, with silly giggles and a Kardashian style voice. She now acts exactly like that for every single role she gets. It's almost like she's forgotten how to act as she's gotten older. Very limited and unnatural and she wasn't like that during her early career.

The original post was about the actress that played Jessica (Layla's cousin) not Jessica Lowndes the actress. I thought the cousin looked way older than Layla, was hard to believe they grew up together seemingly around the same age.

Yes, that's what I was talking about. She just seemed less last like a bad fit all the way around.
