Jessica Lowndes

This was one of the movies I wasn't looking forward to simply because Jessica was casted in it, but thank goodness she finally did well with acting. I usually cannot stand her acting and was disappointed when I saw Daniel Lissing's first hallmark movie was with her. Thankfully, (and probably all thanks to Daniel's charisma and acting) she managed well and I'd actually watch this movie again. How cute was Daniel, btw? :)

I am not a fan of this actress. She is not very good, although she was certainly better in this one than in Merry Matrimony which was awful. I think she only gets work because of her beauty. Agree that Daniel Lissing was the highlight of this movie and he made Miss Lowndes look good. I didn't like the character she played, totally bland, petulant, and immature. I did not like how she kept stringing him along after it was obvious he, for some reason, was in love with her.

Agree. Jessica is a pretty poor actress, although better here than in 'Merry Matrimony'. She was lucky to be paired with Daniel Lissing, whose charm pretty much carried this movie.

Merry Matrimony was the most cringe worthy movie of Hallmark! That storyline had so much potential, but the casting was all wrong. I agree with all of what you said.

For some reason she comes across as snarky and having a poor attitude. She's not very likable.

In the majority of her work I've seen her in, she really seems to come off like she has an attitude problem. Every. Single. Time.

So, I was glad to see she actually did some decent acting and didn't stick with her usual idea of acting.

I've been a fan of hers since 90210. I think recently she has picked movies which don't showcase her acting ability and are quite clichéd characters, maybe that's how she appears to have an attitude problem. I thought she acted very well in the movie 'Autopsy'.

Oh my gosh, I loved the lead male actor! So charming and easy on the eyes. I started to watch Merry Matrimony but only lasted 10 minutes because I did not like her. It's mostly the way she talks for me, like she's in high school or something. But I did think she did better in this role.

She is still a very green actress. I notice that her timing is very odd. Case in point: In A December Bride when Seth is showing Layla his home for the first time she makes the comment (all run together as if one sentence (wording may not be exact)): "So you can afford a beautiful home that you don't have time to enjoy, show me more." There was no pause from the first thought to the second thought. It is one thing to talk about having the beautiful home and her second thought was for him to show her more of the home. But she ran them together as one single thought and it was awkward.

She did this kind of odd timing several times in the movie. It really makes her come across as so focused on making sure to not forget a line that she just blurts them out instead of "feel the character" to bring the character to life. Instead it is "acting" instead of 'becoming" the character.

Also, she talks very fast and does not take time with her diction so it is hard to understand her at times. Example: "Jessica asked me about the engagement ring...she was the first to ask." She said it so fast that the word "ring" got lost and the sentence did not make sense without it.

I figure these are all just examples of someone that has not honed their acting skill. She could benefit from a lot more theatre and acting class type of training.

That's so true! I picked up on that as well and all that adds to the oddness of her acting skills. As someone who lip reads, she's my least favorite to read lol
