It would stain the sands red...

...but not your pants.

Getting away from the magical period that won't ruin your outfit, this was a bit of a mixed bag of a movie. The whole first act I kept wondering "Why not just get a rock and smash Smalls over the head with it the next time you're on a cliff, huh?". It just seemed to go nowhere.

Then she warms up to the zombie, and that's the most interesting part of the movie for me. It gives her an opportunity for self-reflection and all that. And then the final act happens, and it's underwhelming. Sure, it was a nice piece of redemption for our character, but I wasn't that invested in
her going in to get her kid
, since I didn't feel enough time was spent establishing that relationship. More time was spent building the relationship with Smalls and I think the movie should've ended around when he bit it.

Still though, it was an interesting third of a movie. And it's always nice to see a woman confronted with these types of dire circumstances (even without the zombies).
