I envy people who will see this movie in the Sundance Fest.

I live in a deeply catholic country, so this movie will probably not be shown in the theaters because of its subject or it will be shown but heavily censored. I remember the latter being done to Brokeback Mountain when I was in elementary. If that happens then I'll have to wait for the dvd release which feels like eternity since I still have the book "hangover". I honestly envy people who gets to watch the film during Sundance. *heavy sigh...

I truly hope it gives the book justice so the wait will be worth it. When do you guys think the trailer will come out.

There will definitely be reviews of the movie so at least by then we will get a sense of the film.

I agree. I mean I live in a liberal area and state so it will probably be in are art house theaters but since it's indie it could take a long time to come into fruition.

Please, make a detailed review after you watch the movie.

reply

I will.

T-Sour I don't think this movie is an Indie, Armie Hammer is attached to it a well known American actor. Also, I read the movie got millions in terms of distribution deal BEFORE Sundance. And that usually does not happen. There is a lot of buzz for this movie.

reply

I don't think it matters if the actor is big or not. It's indie because of its distributer and how it's already shaping up. A lot of Sundance movies are considered indie. Other indie movies with big actors include:

Room 2016
Green Room 2016
Juno 2007
The Disappearance Of Alice Creed 2010
Pathology 2009
A Bigger Splash 2015
Cloud Atlas 2013

I can't wait to see it. The book is my favorite. I know someone at Sundance now and the movie is sold out for its premiere. They are trying to get tickets on standby. I hope they do so I can live vicariously through them. I'm dying for reviews to start coming in. I'll be totally p*ssed if this isn't a masterpiece because it could have been one. The material is great.

If this movie is a fail I'll rip their hearts out like what Andre Aciman did to mine. I've invested so much emotion to the book and is waiting with baited breath for the movie to fill the scenes where my imagination won't suffice. Tell your friends I envy them. LOL

reply

It's like the only benefit of living in Utah is we get to see Sundance films lol

reply

Did you saw it?

reply

I envy people who CAN see this movie.
