I thought it was great when Ozzy says
Well, I'm world famous.
shareI lauged when he said, "Your mother knits socks that smell."
share"I want opium"
shareThat was class - I've never thought of that before, it must have been a way back in the day when the original movie came out, for kids to talk about 'those' scenes without getting into as much trouble when a teacher would overhear lol.
I like how the subtitles didn't always match up either, obviously a tough job lol. I am glad I can understand him though xD
Actually, he was quoting a line from a Saturday Night Live parody of "The Exorcist". Loraine Newman played Reagan McNeil and Richard Pryor played the priest. The actual line was, "Your mama sews socks that smell!" (a take on the movie line, "Your mother sucks c0cks in Hell!" Pryor got pissed and said something along the lines of "Don't talk about my mama!" I remember watching it live. I must have been about 8 years old.
That's hilarious - being in Australia we never got it at the time on TV, but I have meant to catch up on a few old episodes the past years - will make sure to do that soon
I really enjoyed the doco about National Lampoons, that was probably more exposure to SNL than I'd had previous
I dug that documentary too. The cool thing about the early years of Lampoon and SNL was the fact that, through comedy, they took social protest and political satire to the same level as did the music of the sixties. The only difference was, with comedy, you've a bit more leeway; you can make the establishment bleed with a sinister smile. Laugh on, my Australian friend!
