news flash: Almost everything is copied from somewhere

Almost everything.

Whether its from Shakespeare or Greek tragedies, almost every story line has its origin elsewhere.

When it comes to tv, forget about calling plagiarism on anyone. I like Ash, and in a quirky way, I like this just as much.

Think about 400-500 channels, all needing programming. Used to be 4 networks, and a bunch of local networks, mostly showing sports and old movies. It looks like there will be 8-10 new shows this fall/winter that I'll at least watch a few times. Anyone want to guess how many will feature a totally new concept, storyline?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!

One thing I remember form Sophomore College is a course in Archetypal Criticism. The basic tenet is that there are a finite number of plots, characters, actions, and settings. ALL of literature is crafted by combining long-existing elements in a hopefully new or unfamiliar way.

This is a lame excuse and that this show doesn't need. Like that's going to convert anybody.

They don't need to convert anyone, the existing viewer base has already justified a second season. Being a knock-off show has its own appeal I guess.

Dude, ripping stuff from all over and making something different out of it is fine. Heck most directors are guilty of it, including Tarantino.

But this seems to be a shameless blatant rip off. Like those knock off shoes or clothes that carry the original brand.
