wanna be shyamalan crappy film

slow with weird dialogues.
the scenes are stupid, they whisper as if saying something important, its not.
the supernatural plot and the way the educated doctor and his family goes along with it is retarded .

it looks like the makers were trying hard to be like m night shyamalan but failed.

When people don’t understand something, it can make them angry and they insult the intelligence behind it as a defense mechanism so that they don’t feel simpleminded.

You regularly see people react like this to art films. It’s okay if you don’t get it, it doesn’t make you stupid, smart people don’t know either, part of the fun is trying to interpret the symbolism. That’s all art is, attempting to stir the imagination. There are NO wrong interpretations, there in lies the beauty.

I've never liked, "This movie was dumb because it was different," but I'm equally wary of, "This movie is beyond your intelligence," or perhaps, "You didn't like it because you didn't get it."

There are four boxes arranged in a grid. The two columns are "Didn't get it/did get it", while the two rows are "Liked it/Didn't like it". Plenty of people falling into all four boxes...

(I know you said you didn't think "getting" the movie was a measure of intellect)

Yeah I did say that ‘getting’ this film or art films in general is not a measure of intelligence and I truly believe that. Some of the most brilliant people I’ve ever known don’t see the point of films like this. It doesn’t make me special or smart because I do. It has a lot to do with left brain ways of thinking about things and how different that is than the right brained thinkers. I don’t believe in boxes, people don’t fit in boxes.
