I agree that it would be interesting to show how they dealt with the coverup. OTOH it’s probably realistic that an affluent white family will get less investigation over something like this.

The kid was already very sick as was on record at the hospital. Parents could have explained it that way. Who is going to question a white, affluent surgeon.
