So the teenager just got away with it all? Colin Farrell's character got away with shooting his son?

Yes. The son was already sick and it was documented so they could say he died of natural causes.

But he had a bullet hole in him.

it's not a literalist type of movie... it doesn't matter so much as he still was faced with the choice
