Looks like trash (spoiler)

And I can already tell the plot from the trailer, SPOILER:

He accidentally kills the child's father or family member. I'll still watch it because it looks less bad than the cesspool of world cinema right now.

Reviews mean nothing nowadays.

I agree with your theory. Although I don't think it looks like trash.

Here's what I'm guessing: Colin Ferrell is married to Nicole Kidman and they have two children. Colin Ferrell is a surgeon and he operated on the kid from Lost's (IDK his name, LOL) dad and killed him. He may have been paralyzed and then died, or he may have just died. What's interesting is the part where Colin says that only an anesthesiologist can kill a patient, a surgeon can't. Which isn't actually true. But I'll be interested to see what the actual cause of death was. As revenge, the Lost kid does something to the surgeon's children which causes them to be paralyzed as well. And he might plan on doing the same thing to the wife, because at one point the daughter says something like, "It'll happen to you, but you'll get used to it."

It looks promising. I kind of wish it was a book. But I love the cast. They're all very talented actors, so I will definitely give this one a try.

I'll see it too but I have no expectations.

Why do you call him the kid from LOST? I don't remember him from that..
He was in Dunkirk. He's a bit different looking..

I saw this last night. I loved it. Lanthimos makes movies that no one else can make. I saw The Lobster and loved it too. The actor Barry Keoghan is unbelievable in this. He's the spookiest character I've seen in ages. I highly recommend it, especially if you're looking for something off the beaten path.

thanks for the info

Spoil me please, so what's it all about?

Some SPOILERS:

I saw it last night. Farrell plays a surgeon who operates on Martins(the boys) father. Martins' father dies while in surgery. Martin thinks he needs justice, an eye for an eye so he essentially black mails Farrell and states you pick one person of you family and kill them or he was will kill all of them slowly. Farrell starts to go crazy throughout the film and Martin just gets creepier. The way Martin inflicts his pain and injuries on others is something to watch out for. It was never given to you in plain English.

Many thanks 'Rich

Oh my, this sounds so creepy. Thanks for that! It's an excellent psychological horror film, but I have no idea why the title called while there is no deer in the film.

reply

"Oh my, this sounds so creepy." This means you have not seen the film, yes?

"It's an excellent psychological horror film" How do you know this if you haven't seen it?

reply

I have seen it, and I didn't know what is exactly about it, so thanks to someone who nicely explained.

reply

Bullshit - he doesn't say he will kill them - he said they'd die. There's a supernatural angle here, one which is not explained AT ALL.

Unless, of course, you read some shitty greek myth on internet - then it will all supposedly make sense.

Cake,

Have you seen this yet? I thought it was pretty good in terms of mood and atmosphere... Creepy movie and shot better than most films these days (not saying much, but still...) as it is composed for the large screen...

The performances are solid... Movie has flaws, but is cinematic... I like how detached it is (the acting and directing is deliberate), so we can judge the character's decisions with some distence, rather than treating the characters as our proxies...

reply

well I didn't hate it lol, I liked Colin Farrell's performance, and was appalled at Nicole Kidman's lips, she is really deformed.

reply

Yeah... He was solid... 👍
