I found it the same, but entertaining nonetheless. It getting so much hype due to American and British websites labeling it the "Scariest Movie Ever..." and such crap.

It is not scary at all, but it is not boring either... It is basically an action movie with a horror background and some (maybe unintended) moments of humor.

The plot is interesting and the action scenes are good.

But the acting is terrible, the leading character looks like a robot with no facial expressions; the characters do not behave in a credible way; some of the dialogs are just stupid; and the melodramatic music is out of place.

I give it 5.5 out of 10

Well, it is your typical Zombie flick. If you watch zombie movies or tv shows, you'd know what to expect. But there is something about the feel of the movie that makes it different from the usual ones that Hollwood has done. It lacks the typical American cliche thats for sure which is a good thing. The movie felt really fresh even though the zombie deal has been done many times before. Its really good. Knowing Hollywood, they will probably do their own remake of it which won't be as good as the original Korean version.

who gives a crap? I don't bother to ck over imdb posts, responses, or reviews for proper grammar, spelling or punctuation. It doesn't necessarily mean someone doesn't know how to use them, or that they aren't smart. Maybe you have time to proofread and edit all day. I don't. I know how to use the apostrophe in each case you pointed-out, but I just don't care to put that much effort into it. There's tons of errors in my writing, but almost none of them are done without me knowing they're wrong... (<see).. it's just how I write. At least it's how I write when I'm not being graded or paid for it!!!!!! (<see) Nothing worse that grammar/punctuation police on any website. A.It's not a contest B.It shouldn't hurt your feelings, and C.It doesn't give you the right to try and embarrass someone when it's NOT a direct reflection of the persons intelligence. FTM, I've scored over 120 on 2 of the 3 IQ I've taken, and 119 on the other.

BTW butt-wipe, I pulled your boards and the very first one I looked at had a mistake. Normally, I wouldn't point it out, and I don't have time to go through anymore, but maybe you should redirect your efforts.

As for the use in 80's.. I think it reads better than the correct way.. and for cliche.. sometimes software adds the accent.. sometimes it doesn't... so I was actually trying to make it right and didn't know how to type the accent.. either way..(love the dots don't you) quit being hte grammar police dude... it can be your pet-peeve without you pointing out every little thing to everyone. People don't do it to you.

You don't think they were breaking new ground with the selfish rich dbag character? Or the divorced dad trying toconnect with his daughter character? Or teenagers with unspoken love between them? Or the doddering old ladies? Or...

It blows my mind that people won't recognize the same cliches they've seen since they could open their eyes just because of a foreign language.

And this movie was not scary in the least. The editing was so poor it sucked up all the tension of every scene.

When the tough guy told the others to leave, i was praying "don't do it...please don't do it!!" It seemed like he wasn't going to do it then WHAM! "The kids name is Eun-jong whatever."

I thought the whole film was one big cliche.

Yep. Korean movies love to show character reaction shots that border on the absurd. A zombie is about to eat someone and he can either get up and run or just stare in disbelief? Korean filmmakers choose the latter option every time.

Don't know about you, my theatre was packed and every now and then when the trnsion gets high, there is always girls' screaming. I think the overall flow was good, jump scare didn't feel quite out of place. Some zombie attack scenes were shot extremely well. Maybe because I'm an Asian, I got attached to the scenery and locations in the film. That helped me enjoy the film quite a bit. Judging from the scale of the film, it is very rare to see in Asian cinemas. Especially since it did not suck and had some plausible emotions going on. I liked it.

The zombies in Busan look pretty dead to me. They didn't die on the train because those Koreans don't have the same experience as Glenn ;).

Maybe because it's set in South Korea where not everyone and their mother packs heat like American zombie movies. i found it refreshing how they used the train environment (crawling overhead,claustrophobic setting (i.e. trapped in toilets, momentary darkness to evade zombies

I think it does a reasonable job of character development. Main character and villain were a bit cut and paste, but the married couple and daughter were believable

Very impressive set pieces too and high pace throughout made it a very enjoyable zombie flick.

If you believe that this movie is boring, I am very sorry for you. It means that you are so indoctrinated with Hollywood-style mindless action, that an ordinary film leaves you cold. You should try going Cold Turkey for a while.

sadly, hollywood has picked this up for a remake...guess hollywood is running out of ideas

But Busan is not original whatsoever. Stock characters in a zombie movie. What's so refreshing??? Lol. For real. Where is the orginality here? Quarantine 2 had a zombies on a plane for crying out loud.

But that's the thing - it is ordinary. Every character is a trope and the film was filled with so many cliches. If this film was American it wouldn't have gotten half of the attention it has.

Zombies don't die.
- They do die, except that don't have conventional weapons to properly do a headshot except blunt objects. Blunt objects takes a while to kill the zombies and they don't have the time to kill one either.

Don't get the hype.
- It's been overhyped.

Difference to standard Hollywood zombie movies.
- Better music
- Better character's and development
- Better drama
- Somewhat Good action
- Set on a train with very little moving space
- SLIGHTLY more realistic than most zombie movies
- Somewhat Better acting

So yeah, I think you treat this as a zombie movie which ruins your experience rather than watching it as an actual movie. So this is generally a good zombie movie, nothing more and its certainly better than a wide load of zombie movies being made at this time.

We must have seen a different movie. I thought everything in this film was subpar, especially the music, characters or lack there of, zero drama, zero action, , and the utter wooden acting and lack of any kind of dialogue. I didn't like the last train movie I saw either, Snowpiercer, which everyone loved for some reason.
