Don't understand why deer turned into a zombie.

Why did the deer at the beginning turn into a zombie?
It was simply hit by the vehicle. It wasn't bitten by any zombie.

Dunno either...

I thought that the truck that hit it was coming from wherever the contamination was, and noticed that whoever sprayed the truck at the checkpoint did a very sloppy job. Don't think the right side of the truck was sprayed, which was where it hit the deer. Voila, zombie Bambi.

That's my guess, anyway!

That makes complete sense. The "virus" causes the dead to come back immediately. The deer could have gotten a smear of the virus on it from the inadequately cleaned truck when it was hit and came back at once as a zombdeer. The deer could have bitten a human, who bit another, etc.

Thanks, that was puzzling me. At first I thought it was an escaped experimental animal but a deer wouldn't make a good lab animal.

I think this is the answer. It explains that random scene at the start with the truck being washed down.

reply

I think the assumption is that it was infected before it got run over.

reply

I was thinking the classic Zombie law was at play. Anything that dies, comes back to life. Something holy, nothing based on science or infection.

reply

Or maybe it's like in The Walking Dead. Everybody is infected but only turn into a zombie when they die.

reply

Nah, the zombies were definitely the source of an infection. The only explanation is that the deer was bitten before.

Plus, it was an excuse for the viewers to say "Oh dear."

reply

That can't be the only explanation if some of us reckon that the truck leaving the quarantine zone had some funky *beep* on it's tires when it hit the deer. Also folks were dying within 10 mins of being bit, incredible coincidence that the deer was bitten just moments before it got run over, that would be god demonstrating that he was grumpy that day!

How about the deer already being a zombie before it got hit and just getting knocked out for a while after the truck hit him?

reply

Except these weren't really zombies, they were infected with a virus or something. They were rabid.

I think the explanation that the truck had some goo on it that didn't get washed off and it got in the deer is the best explanation I've heard. It certainly makes the most sense, because if the deer was rabid before the truck hit it it would've just stood right up and started to attack, not wait for a minute or so then stand up all white-eyed.

They explained this in " <Seoul Station>, 2016 " it's a prequel of this movie

The deer was in the quarantine zone. The driver of the truck was going into it and even asked about his hogs having to be put down again.

Later the father was at work looking online at the news article that showed dead fish wash in up in a reservoir. The reservoir was in the same quarentine zone. The fathers company was also responsible for releasing it because they worked for a biotek facility that was designing the virus. Hope this helps clear this up. Was an awesome movie.

reply

I am watching this now and was wondering the same. Thanks!

As soon as they revealed that the father's company was responsible for the zombie plague,
I knew that he was going to die.
Says who?

You'd feel cocky too if you were full of myself.

reply

Wah? No, clearly the deer was already infected before it got hit.
