I went and saw Cats today. The film is getting bad reviews and low ratings, but I actually enjoyed it. It really isn't bad at all. It is an intentionally strange and unusual film with cats that have humanish faces singing and dancing, but I had a good time with it. If you like musicals and you don't mind weird movies with cat like creatures singing and dancing, then you might enjoy it too. My rating is 8/10.

shareIt is almost impossible to have a movie that is universally hated, even the worst movies will have some people actually enjoy them, whether because they are complete idiots or just have strange tastes... same goes for movies that are love by many you will still have some people that hate those movies as well.
With Cats you just need to really know what you have when you go into it... to begin with it has very little plot and lots of squirming around by people in CGI cat suits... If you get into that then I'm sure you would enjoy it... but don't go simply because you like musicals, because Cats is a crap ass musical. The fact that almost no one that has watched the musical can name any songs from it except Memory should be a giveaway that it fails on the musical front. If you ask someone to name a song from Phantom of the Opera or Les Miserables you would have people able to rattle off numerous songs which is evidence that it is probably a good musical. But to anyone that just watch Cats this weekend, how many songs can you remember?
