Why not cast actual cats?

I call for a boycott! Felines have rights

reply

No need for a boycott, this film has tanked on its own. Should’ve cast real cats!

reply

How about one called DOGS?

reply

You made me think of the old CATS & DOGS movies from the 2000's. Funny that they're both likely better than this one. And they had some A-list celebrities doing voices, too! Kind of amazing in retrospect for a couple of goofy talking animal movies.

reply

Dogs have too much attention as it is.

reply

It's harder to train them. Ever heard the expressing "like herding cats"?

reply

The cats read the script. They weren't interested.

reply

I don't blame them...

reply

Cats are smart.

reply

This movie could've easily use and train actual cats with cgi effects like with every other talking-animal kids movie out there. Lady and the Tramp (2019) being the most recent example. It would've been at least lot less jarring to look at and get taken seriously.

reply

True and it would have redeemed my childhood fantasy of seeing a production of live cats.

[deleted]

those would be some talented dogs! Oscar worthy performances.

reply

It's the story of how Hollywood has always been with it's people-washing.

reply

Didn't you hear about #catsboycottcats ? Lots of cats joined the boycott because of the cultural appropriation by homo sapiens. The cats feel typecast and misrepresented. That's why the movie tanked.

reply

Never underestimate the power of cats!

reply

For real.
