I tuned to this for a few minutes last night..

and you know what came to my mind? I see Mercer with Grayson walking around on some planet and it just looks so passe', like something that was kinda cool 50 years ago. Talk about just walking through the motions with no chemistry, no emotion..this is simply soulless TV.

Yes. I decided to drop the Orville mid episode. It's just a poor wannabe copy of STNG. Some of it was fun but it's stale now. With STD also being a one trick pony I long for some quality writing on Picard later this year. But some things are better let undisturbed.

reply

I hear there are already some serious development problems with Picard..and with Bad Robot involved I'd rather it not happen.

reply

That's a pity. Not a lot of other alternatives for sci-fi atm. The only ones I see are Orville and STD still running. If you know of others, let me know.

Did they have a new episode last night? I don't know if 3 weeks has gone by yet, but they promised us a new ep a while back.

reply

Yes. I haven't seen it yet, but my DVR recorded it.

reply

Okay, just checked. They aired a new ep last night, so I'll have my dad and brother join me with the DVR too :)

reply

It doesn't sounds like you tuned in long enough to know what the plot was. Mercer and Grayson broke up so they're not a couple anymore.

I still have 9-5 playing in my head.

I tried to watch it once, but when they pulled out a robot character that made Twiki from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century look good it was clear the show was just too stupid to waste any time on. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a spoof of scifi or was just bad scifi... either way I never managed to get through a single episode.
