Rotten tomatoes score of 19% Fresh, 81% Rotten

Do you agree?

Not the audience score. So fuck RT.
The audience know better than stupid critics.

Actually, the percentage makes me laugh b/c it's the stupid, jaded critics that are bashing this show, whereas regular everyday viewers love it, particularly Star Trek fans. They give it a much higher rating. I'm with the actual viewers on this one.

That's typically why I don't usually listen to what critics say about anything. Throw enough money at them, and they'll give a good review on ANYTHING, even if it's so horrible that even brain-dead corpses wouldn't watch it. That is also why tv/movie critics tend to praise the living daylights out of awful stories and either ignore or dump on the good stuff.

When Ghostbusters (2016) hit theaters back then, critics were afraid of being called out as a misogynist if they gave the film a bad review. So, to avoid being labeled as a woman hater, they gave mostly positive reviews to a film that should've been in the Bottom 100 on IMDb.

This is one of the reasons why I do not trust the RT score anymore. Nobody can give their honest opinion.

Ignore RT. I think Metacritic is a far better site.
Interesting comparison of the two here:

Metascore is 36 now. RT S1 is 26%.
Not measuring the same thing. Meta is average, RT is percentage over 6/10.

Maybe based on the pilot - but as a whole no. The pilot was quite bad. You had to watch more episodes to begin to like it.

And the show walks a thin line - not enough comedy to count as comedy not serious enough to be real drama.

Still I enjoyed most episodes.

Rotten Tomatoes can go stuff it! I haven't put any stock in what they say about movies or tv shows because critics are idiots.

1.) Critics are part of a small, very messed-up group of people living in the Hollywood Bubble. They have no clue what good quality tv or movies are. They are notorious for praising all the bad stuff and dumping on or ignoring the good stuff on tv. Plus, you throw enough money at them, they'll say whatever you want about a flick, even if it's a lousy one. My best example would be that all-female Ghostbusters disaster that came out recently. Before the movie was unleashed, it got several decent reviews from bribed critics. After ordinary viewers were subjected to it, the critics didn't have to lie anymore.

2.) The actual viewers have a more accurate rating for "The Orville," and these are people who are not paid to say anything about the show. These are honest reviews that they do for free.

3.) I lost all respect for RT when they disabled the ability for anyone to criticize "Black Panther" when it came out. Then they pawn off the 100% fresh rating as truth, when we all knew it was a big fat lie.

Like I said before, Rotten Tomatoes can go rot for all eternity.
