Did the first film really need a sequel?

Was it that good?

reply

Well,yeah.. I would say so.

Depends who you ask, if you ask Larry Clark he'd probably say yes because he needed more fap-material, if you ask anyone else than probably not

A good father and a good outlaw can't settle inside the same man.

I just got done watching Marfa Girl and I definitely say it does not need a sequel. Maybe its because it took me multiple times to finish Marfa Girl but I don't remember any sort of plot or story.

I like Larry Clark. His most well known movie "Kids" was really good. I think I like "Bully" more. I haven't seen "Ken Park" all the way through being you can't buy a copy that'll work in a DVD player but from what I have seen and remember it was good. "Wassup Rockers" was alright for not being your typical Larry Clark movie.

reply

No. The movie was aimless. No plot or anything. Second one is like that too.

:::spoilers:::
Movie centers on raising babies. These stupid ass teens obviously can’t take care of them bc nothing changes in their vapid lifestyle. Lots of sex/nudity. One kills a baby at the end.

It was interesting to check in on where the characters supposedly are. I liked the first movie. This one was short, and more sad in the end, I suppose. The acting from Adam and Mercedes didn't really get any better. I guess both of them did okay in some scenes, but the scenes they have together (their fight, for example) are pretty unconvincing. I thought Drake Burnette was pretty good.

But overall, the first picture stands on its own well enough, the sequel wasn't needed.
