Worst

Worst show in a long while. A whining needy idiot that'll give her ass - literally (and how does that even work - no lube, no prepping? really? - to anybody for no real reason other than the fact she's so depressingly starved for affection, and continue the downwards spiral after that through every part of her miserable day? How is this a TV show? Who watches this crap?

reply

Well, me and obviously you!

reply

Well, we watched it. And loved it. I remember reading a review that said - I probably paraphrase - "One day all television will be this good" One day. We live in hope.

By the way we are a male and female, 65 and 58. Perhaps not the target audience but we watched the whole thing in two chunks over two nights and loved every moment. So well made, technically, so well acted, so well written. It was a joy. And so much seemed so real - the funny bits, the sad bits, the frankly worrying bits.

I've been a television fan for almost 60 years now and its been a rare moment when I have seen anything so thoroughly satisfying in every sense.

I'm not as old as you but I've been watching TV for a long time and I think this series is great.

I'm certainly old enough to know that every new or fresh show gets a "what kind of total crap is this?" reaction from some people.

Ironically, perhaps, the better the show, the more predictable reaction.

reply

Another older long term tv watcher here....loved it. Just binged it. There might be something to that, as in that we have lived longer lives and understand so many more family dynamics and have seen things both as young adults and now in our aging years.

reply

You're an imbecile. It's brilliant and being hailed as so

reply

Thankfully, tastes differ.

reply

But its always good to call bad taste in media on their idiocy-if you don't we get more mindless Kardashian crap....Fleabag is brilliant-based on a very successful play. To dismiss it entirely, is pretty imbecilic...

reply

Just to be pedantic.

1. chances are she was probably had some "liquid" courage.

2. Sex produces all kinds of hormones and reactions.

3. Sex can get sweaty.

4. The vagina produces lubricants.

5. UK, so he's likely uncut; which again, means naturally produced lubricants.

6. There is the possibility she has a giant *beep*

All of these things can combine together to make unprepped anal a little easier. That being said, most straight guys just don't seem to comprehend the fact that the ass doesn't come sex-ready, and they don't really consider these things. As Fleabag said at the moment, she had enough reasons to feel "guilt" enough to just let him go for it.

The hormonal reactions during sex are a really big thing; this is why foreplay tends to be a very important thing for women; also gay men. I'm gay, and a bottom, so from experience I can say the more aroused I am and the more sexual foreplay involved, the more "receptive" I am, regardless of any level of prep. I had plenty of times during my young days where I didn't prep (for shame) and if it was a hot enough encounter, I just didn't need very much in way of prep to be accepting. Bloodflow increases, erogenous areas get stronger concentrations of bloodflow, smooth muscle relaxes.

Ask a TMI question, get a TMI answer. :P

You succeeded. Pedantic.

Get over the Kardashian references. Most people in the US detest them.

That's the whole point of the series you idiot

She was drinking tea too, we didn't see her buy tea bags or boil water. So they must have used CGI tea. Or a special camera lens.

Maybe you need to be spoon fed everything paper?

Watch "Friends" suits you more.

reply

I love Friends and I love Fleabag.
Am I also meant to be insulted by your last statement?

reply

Me too!

Run to your church to confess and write a letter to the PTA if your feelings are hurt about seeing an independent, sex-loving maniac on TV

reply

So you hate it moral reasons? It's hilarious. Hell of a lot better than most of the things that boast a comedy tag these days.
