Release Date Speculation

So I'm taking a wild guess here, but I think 'Marvel's The Punisher' is gonna have a Mid-August to Mid-September Release date, Probably September 15th if I was guessing exact days. It's nearly a year after they've began filming, and I imagine that Leaves the Defenders with a Late December Release date.

The reason I suggest that is mainly due to Iron Fist starting it's Filming in April and then getting a March Release. Jessica Jones had a shorter filming schedule if I remember correctly, but Daredevil Season 1 and 2 Both carried a Filming Schedule that Started roughly 11 months ahead of release date. I'm 90% sure Luke Cage started filming in October of Last Year. Not to mention Luke Cage came out Roughly 6 Months after Daredevil Season 2, Jessica Jones came 7 after Daredevil, and Season 2 of Daredevil came only 4 months after.

Since they're doing 3 show next year it could come to a late July Release for the Punisher, still close to august and a late October or earl November Release for Defenders. With 3 Awesome shows coming to Netflix, from Marvel, next year I'm beyond excited. Everyone who even remotely knows me knows which one I'm the most excited for. I hope I'm wrong and It's release date isn't September, but if it is I'm not gonna complain.

So I'm gonna take a Couple of Guesses, and we all know that it's likely we aren't getting a release/streaming date until after Iron First Premiers, and It's gonna be a few months after that just to get both shows Properly promoted. The only reason why I would suggest the Punisher releases before Defenders is simply it started filming first. It could easily be the other way around but who knows. Here we go, I suggested 3 months the show could debut, July, August, and September.

July 28th, Biggest Movie out would be Dunkirk and Spider-Man Homecoming, the latter of which would have been out for 3 weeks at that point, without a doubt the least likely just from an attention grabbing point, Big Movies Premiering or sticking around usually kills viewership.

August 18th, No big movies releasing this week or the couple August weeks before or the week after. Maybe the best to get attention especially of any viewers they wanna capture before school starts again, college market is big, so is the working class market. Most like to stay home anyway so I'd say this is the best one to get people to really sit down and watch something from Marvel, especially being a month removed from a family friendly and Highly anticipated Marvel Project itself, Spider-Man Homecoming. It also buys another Month's worth of Advertising and teasing. Gives the Public time to rest after Iron Fist and want more Marvel Netflix.

September 15th, Now a semi big movie comes the week before, the new adaptation of IT, but horror movies don't usually grab a lot of attention at the Box Office even when they are good, it takes them being masterpieces to get any attention, and there's a family friendly movie out the next week that'll gain a lot of attention (Ninjago) and I suspect Grown Ups will need a week of something more for their tastes a week before sitting through something more for their kids.
Personally I think the absolute best time frame is the August Release, but again I doubt I'm right on any of these.

I think the best argument for a release date is about August. Gives the Punisher 3 almost 4 months before the Defenders, and I doubt Netflix would release something so Highly anticipated the Month of a Star Wars Movie would come out, it would certainly hurt streaming and numbers competing with one of the biggest cinematic franchises in all of history and it's a Disney project. It's far more likely that the Defenders is a late November, early December just for the point of getting it out there before Star Wars.

Justice League comes out in November but honestly, we all know Netflix is perfectly willing to put a new show out the same month as a major movie like that, they did it for Batman vs Superman and the numbers and critical reactions were good enough that the next month they announced a Punisher show. November as a release date for Defenders fits. It gives the story time to breathe and let's the audience react to a solo Punisher show.

Now for when the release dates will be announced. Definitely think the San Diego Comic Con will do a Panel for the Punisher, but roughly around the time Iron Fist Releases we'll get a date on the Punisher, maybe a reveal trailer or a series trailer. SDCC might give us a first look at the Punisher show, or a new Trailer, Maybe some other convention will pick up and debut something new for the Punisher. For Defenders I definitely believe that there'll be a date at the New York Comic Con at the latest. That's when they did it for Iron Fist, but that's October so if they do I'm guessing an October release date for it and some trailers. It could very well get a release date announced after the Punisher like Luke Cage did with Daredevil.

But those are my thoughts on the whole ordeal. If you have any opinions on this one way or the other share them. It's always fun to converse this stuff, and a lot of you guys are smart and might see something that I didn't that gives you a whole different concept or idea of when this show will premier. Sorry for the long post but I figured why not. So yeah, Punisher, Maybe August, Hope so. Can't wait, extremely excited for it to hit.

Punisher will be released after the defenders iron fist comes out March defenders summer Jun/July/August so punisher october/November. My guess is sometime in October tho because the cast list has some one playing Halloween attended

I'd say this as well. I anticipate the Defenders debuting August or September with this possibly debuting November

I could imagine if November it could very well be a week before Justice League Releases, a subtle nod to Daredevil, which premiered before BVS, while also boosting it's numbers during the oncoming holiday. I figure you're right about it being in November.

Great point.

I wonder what's the excitement and fan anticipation for this. It's on my interest level though season 2 of DD and season 1 of Luke Cage I was super pumped for. I'm kinda so-so on Iron Fist but only cause i wanna have something to prep me for The Defenders
