a Good Film...

telling the story of Canadian racism against native Americans. Follows the journey of Saul Indian Horse's life from childhood, when he is sent to so-called school for indian boys, run by Catholic nuns and priests, to becoming a top hockey player for Canadian semi-pro teams.

The abuse the boy, Saul, suffers at the hands of the nuns and priests is heartbreaking at times, but it continues in more subtle ways when he grows into manhood and faces the general racism of Canadians toward a member of a reviled race of people in Canada.

Spoiler alert: The most shocking, albeit brief, scene happens when the one priest at the indian school who was always kind and caring toward the boy Saul comes in a flashback late in the movie, showing the priest soliciting a blowjob from Saul. All you see is the boy dropping down below camera level as the priest stands there with a look of sexual pleasure on his face.
