Thanks to this show, I have no desire to ever charter a private yacht ..

if the show accurately portrays a typical yacht crew. Laughingly, the worst ones are those who talk about "professionalism" the most. Hopefully, the season finale will feature Danny deservedly drop-kicking "I demand to be respected" Bryan overboard.

Yes, hopefully Danny will be recovered by the end and be able to do just that...throw him overboard! The lack of professionalism on these charters floor me! I don't see what makes these cruises worth the big bucks. The gasoline? Hardly. Yes it is dear, and more expensive in Europe where car gas is sold by the liter. They never seem far from the beach or anchoring point as they are always set within a few hours of their destination. The food? Well Ben does seem to care about what he is serving them but fresh local produce and seafood is not worth $500 a plate per meal. (Guesstimate there folks) The butler type service is not "white glove" or the best that I've seen. There is no breakfast in bed options or room service. No menus with meals and the table settings....well I get that they have limited resources but hey I could do better here in my home. The booze...no...they are not drinking vintage wines! They are having mixed drinks most of the time. Fancy cocktails sans cute tacky umbrellas lol. Nope. I don't see myself taking any of these fancy overpriced yacht trips. I have access to a family members and work for my keep but have just as good of a time and hey deck crew...the first thing I was taught was knot tying and the ropes...6 years experience and your superior needs to go over tying them with you? (Granted I think he was exerting his authority more than teaching them HIS way) These people don't want to work. They want to get by with just doing as little as they can get away with to collect that tip and then go get hammered. Remember that on top of those seemingly big tips they are collecting a second paycheck for the show. I'm thinking they are going home with perhaps 10-15 grand per week.

mindthinkr,

I have posted during the past seasons on the other message board the same thing. There is no way these trips are worth it. Total rip-off. I remember past seasons I felt like the guests got really ripped off. Especially when Kate would pull stuff out of her ass or do like kindergarten arts and crafts or could not even get the food or drinks that were asked for.

I've really wondered about the money these crews make as well. I posted about it earlier this season. I think I finally have a better understanding. They go on about how great the money is and that is why they quit their other jobs and are there now. It might sound like great money at first but then when you break it down by the hour it's less than twenty bucks an hour. During these charters it sounds like the crew gets little to no sleep and are working non-stop. I know one crewmember this season stated they worked 20 hours straight and I think Ben just said last episode that he was on his 17th hour working.

You are right that this crew on TV is probably getting TV money as well. So they might be making out. But I am thinking a regular crew, not on TV, it's not all it's cracked up to be.

I'll pass on both being a guest or a crewmember.

The real "currency" they value is having their smug little faces on TV. Acting like an idiot on a reality TV show is a full time job/career for some of these clowns.

Like McGurl, I too posted about this on earlier seasons. $200k for a couple of days on a fancy boat?! 200k can buy incredible vacations - safaris, exotic islands, deserted beaches. I wouldn't want to explore the beautiful Greek isles bring cocooned in a tacky Las Vegas decor yacht with an American/British crew either. It reminds me of the film The Accidental Tourist about the guy who wrote books advising American tourists how to avoid the local culture and foods while travelling abroad.

I think for these loons they aren't really concerned with sightseeing. They want to be able to get pissed drunk and say they chartered a yacht in the Med. I also don't believe these particular people paid 200K. They could do pretty much the same thing on a Carnival 3 day cruise to Ensenada - a cruise that exists purely to get drunk. They could save tens of thousands even in Carnival's best suite.

Danny is a major idiot. Who would charter a yacht and think it's okay for the dude who wipes the railings down to take pics and show them to other charter guests???

I don't think anyone on the show pays the full "200 grand" to get this yacht, yet still they expect something close to professionalism.

Danny is a moron.

Yet some people on here keep defending Danny regardless, which is really very strange.
