Danny, selfless or selfish?

After watching a few videos from Stefan Molyneux on YouTube (a philosopher), all I see now are MOTIVES and IQ, and I can't stop seeing how Danny's selfless, nice guy, sword-faller-on'er thing might not be what he honestly believes it to be.

Either he's the "good guy," and everyone else is trying to prevent him from doing good, or he's missing something.

I tried very hard to give him the benefit of the doubt because he seemed young, but he's only a year younger than Bryan, which totally surprised me.

reply

Neither - that boy is CLUEless.

reply

I almost did a different post from that angle instead, and "clueless" was going to be the word I used (I remember it kept popping into my head). It's always funny how I come on here, and other people are on the exact same page... Ya, totally clueless.

reply

He's a clueless knucklehead douchebag.

MrMcMurphy,

It honestly is really hard to tell with this show. It is so edited (and probably staged) that I always feel you can't really tell what is really going on. But after watching a few seasons of this show there is always one person the show wants you to hate and fans rightfully or wrongfully fall for it and just pile on the person. Just look at the other replies here. Total hate like this kid personally fvcked them over.

All I know is this crew (as well as past seasons' crews) are not the greatest and it's not like all the other crew members besides Danny are heroes. Far from it. I think people should be piling on the far bigger problems on the boat, namely the chief bitch, I mean stew, and the First Officer. Their completely unsuited for their current positions onboard and their screw-ups will more effect the guests and tip than Danny maybe being a minor annoyance to a guest for a few minutes.

P.S. Did anyone notice this past episode how Bryan and Robby were below deck screwing around and Jen and Danny were topside working. But all we here how Danny and Jen suck and don't work. Really?

reply

I'm glad to hear that the show's had better casts because I personally love the hell out of this season's cast, so I'm really looking forward to watching the past seasons now.

reply

If they had a professional crew whom did their jobs and didn't act out from time to time there would be no show. You have to remember when watching it that it is as salty as the sea.

Be well and be kind

I could see him being one of those "adult fighters" that always gets into sh**. He's a grown ass man, and he almost got himself murdered by Bobby. Then I see on the preview that he threatens Bryan later on too. He's totally clueless, like a kid with a weak ego, having to resort to violence because he can't figure out how to "use his words" like a big boy. I thought he would be a fun guy, at first.

He's a typical entitled millennial with no respect for authority, no social graces, and no work ethic. He's the most annoying crew member. If I was a charter guest I wouldn't find his behavior entertaining at all. He's going to get his butt beat badly one day.

reply

I thought he'd get his butt kicked too, but after watching the most recent episode, where he personally attacks Hannah, I'm starting to think that he only talks trash when the circumstances keep him safe.

1) Instigating a fight with Bobby on the Tinder, when Bobby obviously couldn't do anything without losing his job.

2) Telling Bryan he was like a little mouse on the deck, then asserting his toughness while walking away.

3) Telling Hannah she had an "ugly personality" in front of the entire crew (she wasn't even talking to him - she was talking to Ben, but he had to take the shot).

It takes a lot of integrity to tell a woman she has an ugly personality in front of her peers. Real strong. Full of courage and integrity. Great guy.

reply

Agree. He's a jerk and everything he does is out of selfishness. He's a creeper...he even has the requisite crazy eyes.

reply

Lol, crazy eyes. Totally.

MrMcMurphy,

I think you and I are watching two different shows. I agree that Danny is a stupid fool but I don't agree with your other assessments.

I'm pretty sure that Danny referred to himself as a little mouse not Bryan. That scene was Bryan showing up and saying a bunch of stupid sh!t to his subordinates that no supervisor should ever say to their employees. All the while they are busy working and Bryan wasn't doing anything. Even Jen was like FU Bryan. Bryan is a terrible supervisor and he is not management material. Most people with integrity would quit on him in a heartbeat.

I thought they made it pretty obvious at the dinner scene last episode that Hannah ruined the dinner for everyone. Everyone wanted a break from the boat and she sat their the entire time complaining about work and people at work and it made for an awkward dinner. They kept showing people's faces at the table and they were like WTF? THEN she got into a fight with Ben at the table. Hannah ruined the dinner. That is why Danny, as you claim, "personally attacked" her. He was pissed as was everyone else at the table. Your last line about integrity and women doesn't even make sense to me. Hannah is a straight up bitch who is not very good at her job but she thinks she is. She has almost cost the crew their tip a few times because of her blunders.

If you haven't noticed already but Hannah and Bryan are pretty bad.

Bingo

Great balls of fire!...*hiccup*...It's Rhett!

Danny (or the Karate Kid as he likes to think of himself) is a complete tool and I wish somebody would throw him overboard.

"You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you." Mr Darcy

reply

Yeah, but only in waters fisherman have been chumming for sharks.

Great balls of fire!...*hiccup*...It's Rhett!

He is an idiot and incapable of learning a thing! He obviously has had little experience distinguishing 5 star service from chain restaurant type service. He acts like a chatty waiter from Applebees who interrupts your dinner conversation too much. Ok for Applebees but not for Michelin star restaurants.

Books has no sound

reply

Ya, I CAN'T BELIEVE he asked to use the jet ski for some adventuring on his break, DURING A CHARTER. And when Bryan was like, "Uh, no," Danny was INDIGNANT!

reply

He's a straight up toddler.

reply

If you haven't seen last night's episode, it is STUPENDOUS!!!!!!! (not a good night for "toddlers")
