what's up with Capt. Mark's eyebrows?

Tattooed on, or what?

reply

I think they are drawn on. At one point I thought they looked a little smeared. Definitely an odd choice.

reply

What do you think, cat? Chemo, skin condition, fashion statement, or something else?

reply

I was thinking about it and I think someone drew them on with a Sharpie while he was asleep. Or maybe his wife/partner/lovah dyed them for him and they are starting to grow out and the grey hair is growing back in?

reply

If you have any more thoughts, please let me (and other readers) know, please.

Oh, for sure! I'm hoping to crack the case within the next few episodes.

With eyebrow tattoos, unless he got them tattooed in prison or by a drunk person with Parkinson's, they are usually done really delicately as individual small hairs and fade in a few years. Whatever it is, I hope it's not permanent!

reply

He looks like a closet crossdresser I can see him when all the crew is on Shore him running around in a full-length gown with his eyebrows drawn on

reply

Ahh, that would explain the weirdness of his eyebrows! A girl on Survivor had tattooed eyebrows and it was VERY distracting to watch.

reply

Oh I remember that! I didn't notice they were tattooed on until her blonde eyebrows started growing out of them. It was so odd and funny too.

reply

I'm so glad other people noticed his ODD eyebrows. My first thought was hair plugs. Maybe he was ill and lost the brow hair.

I miss Captain Lee!

reply

Omfg, I came to say the same. Maybe they're the fake tattoo ones from Harriet Carter? Lol

Blocking trolls since 1999!

They are definitely strange. So far I haven't been able to figure it out. But watching this episode, it seems to look like maybe they had been shaved and are growing back??

reply

Photos of Capt. Mark in early years show him with bushy dark eyebrows. I think he had chemo and is trying to grow them back.

reply

Once you damage your brow bone and lose brow hairs, the hair roots are permanently detroyed and never grow back. Eyebrow scars are patches of browless skin. Somehow he either waxed or plucked them all off in a dare and they never grew back, maybe he burned his face and the roots are damaged, or sadly maybe he was sick and they never grew back after chemo. Just my 2 Euro cents.
