Danny

It would creep me out if I were a guest on that yacht and Danny stood around watching us. He does that with every group. It's disturbing.

Considering all the scut work that needs to be done on a vessel like that even when not docking or prepping I am surprised he has so much time to stand around watching guests, or in the galley, or on his phone. As much as I am not a fan of Bryan and Bobby, I sympathize with them having to constantly hunt down lazy azz, boy toy, thinks he's Mr. Personality, Daniel-son.

I would keel haul him for entertainment.

reply

You're right! He's beyond creepy. Didn't Bryan ask him over the radio: "Where are you and what are you doing Danny?" And he says: "I'm just up on deck watching the guests". He's unbelievably ignorant to think he's something special. That sneaky little boy needs help. We all saw that you had your phone out of your room. Not too bright.

reply

He's always standing around and not working. He acts like he is a guest and not a yachtie.

reply

Well - we will see what happens next week. It looks like heads are going to roll. I hope that little sh#t gets canned.

reply

I'm amazed by all the people on this board that think he's good at what he does and should be commended. I'm not saying the other crew members don't have their issues, but they're 10x more professional than Danny.

It's "Daniel-SAN." https://www.facebook.com/notes/lets-learn-japanese/japanese-honorifics-the-use-of-san-kun-chan-and-sama/116147711743289/

reply

I would not give him the benefit of the honorific. He's a little kid, therefore he's son. I could have said -baby, but the connection to his beloved nickname might have been missed.

reply

Good point.

I agree Danny should be fired if he used his phone after being told by the captain not to. That doesn't excuse the way Bryan dealt with him. Look at the way Captain Mark told Hannah that the current charter reported they were unhappy with her- he waited until Bryan and Ben were out of earshot and then told her, and in a gentle way. Now compare how Bryan confronted Danny (and often times Jen) in front of Bobby and the others, and letting Bobby make comments, too. A good supervisor doesn't b!tch about one employee to another employee. It's not only inappropriate, it leads to more dissent and disrespect, as we've seen.

Bryan even said in the last episode he doesn't like Danny because he's not a "yes man."

reply

Oh, there are many. many reasons before the phone where Danny should have been canned. He is especially lucky Jen did not rat him out for kissing that guest.

Regardless of Bryan - that is another story - Danny is not fit for that job. Bryan's lack of managerial skills does not give Danny a pass.

reply

I try to give the kid every benefit of the doubt, but he's now pouting he can't take his phone out with the guest; thinks it's so unfair! What a punk! He should have been gone after the 1st couple charters! He can't contain himself! He's making a nuisance of himself with the guest, but they seem to love it! He's going over better than Hannah who's been busted! ;-/

He seems to get along well with the guests, but the guests are pretty trashy themselves. Think about it, he got his ego stroked when he tried to get chicks for that group of old, creepy dudes. And the girls he brought back were pretty sketchy. Now he's best buds with this douche cruise of a$$holes. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of his behavior.

And what was up with him just staring at the female guests while they were posing for pictures!? The guy has no self awareness. He's probably moving to LA to make a name for himself in reality TV

reply

He's already ahead of the game with "the teeth!" 😂 ;-/

Danny should have been fired long ago. I have supervised people, and what he has done is not acceptable behaviour, and would have resulted in termination for cause with NO severance.

reply

Fair enough, Toronto; however, I'm willing to wager big bucks that as a supervisor, you didn't badmouth one subordinate to another or encourage dissension among the ranks.

I really feel like this whole situation became a 'chicken or the egg' debate. Yes, Danny has been immature and needed consequences for his inappropriate behavior. And yes, Bryan has mishandled the situation with him horribly by badmouthing him to other people. I can't help but think if Bryan had handled the situation differently, Danny would have worked out as well as Bobby (or Jen, at least).

reply

How should Bryan have handled it better in the beginning?? Danny has disobeyed direct orders from his boss and the Captain. People need to stop coddling Danny and just accept that he sucks. The only difference between now and what Danny was doing before is that he's not even pretending to obey orders or do his job.

reply

The season teaser had a clip of the Capt. saying "I don't trust you either, here's your plane ticket home"
After week 2,I knew it was Danny,I just couldn't believe it took so long.
Production must've convinced the Capt. to keep him on-or we'd have to watch Bryan and Bobby fall in love.It was good tv watching the 3 of them bicker every charter.

reply

I thimk you're right. To me, the captain always looked ready to kick him off.

reply

The justice is SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

yes, you would think, but then he still doesn't learn. didn't he say something like he was "bullied"? Oh gosh, how stupid. Be an ass to everyone, then when they get mad claim that you are bullied. That's the new denial word.

Jen also has no accountability. Has she once admitted that she can't tie a knot??? NO! So instead of admitting that she needs to sharpen her skills, she claims sexism. Oh, brother!!

A simple mind is a tidy mind.

reply

You read my mind!!! Jen keeps pulling the sexism card, but she's shown incompetence at the same time. Whereas Bobby has shown competence. Of course Brian's putting more on Bobby.

She also gives him attitude when he asks her to do NORMAL sh*t!

If she put the sexism card away, and just did what she was told, like Bobby, she'd save herself a lot of indignation.

reply

The fact that dbag Danny can do so little shows how incompetent the captain is.

I agree. i also believe the captain allowed Danny's boss to make it personal, IMO.

I have been looking at this show for a while. If I recall there was a girl last season who was just as bad. I find Benny and I find this a lot recently, younger people who have no feeling about how important security is. I actually heard someone say to me that security is not that important and it is a illusion. And I look at him like he was nuts but I also noticed he could not hold to a job, Jobs he does well in. He does what Danny does. Danny has no worries of getting fired because if he did someone is going to be there that will take him in. So what the heck. I look at people who act the way Danny acts and say this one of those people who has no fear of ever being one paycheck from being out on the streets.

The person I was talking to is a person with a bunch of aunts and a mother who will all be there if something happened. I said said you never felt a lack of security in your life so you do not feel the there is a real lack of security that does exist in a lot of people's lives. You still being treated like a child you think it is a illusion. He agreed his mother and aunts will take him in, but he would not go because he doesn't like them. I said there is a big difference in making it a choice of being homeless and having no choice. SO I am not surprised how Danny acted. I remember he said he wanted the job but he liked the fun of cruising around. He is one of those 23 year olds still being treated like a child. He acts more like a aristocrat then the real aristocrat on that Yacht ..Ben. But Ben is older and he knows his position and I doubt he would ever take a job for granted. Oh and I advised this person never to make a statement like that in mixed company, meaning a group of people you know and a group you don't because you just might get your block knocked off for saying such a insensitive thing.
