Big Dollhouse unfortunately didn't make it again, but that's the only one from the broadway version that got cut, and two additions from the movie made it in.

reply

I wish they'd cut Big, Blond, and Beautiful. I can't bear the thought of having to watch Jennifer Hudson sing it.

reply

I can't wait to hear her sing it. When she got cast, all I could think about was how I couldn't wait to see her belt that song since I think it suits her voice so well.

"Who lives, who dies, who tells your story"

reply

I think the character in general is perfect for her voice.I'm actually more interested in hearing her sing I Know Where I've Been, I know she's gonna kill that. My issue is that she is way too skinny to be singing a song about being a big woman and eating food, so I'm curious to see how they change the character/ song, which they kinda have to otherwise it would make no sense.

reply

Looks like New Girl In Town is out too. I believe that one had been written for the film and was Amber's solo moment. So Amber will now be singing Cooties from the original stage version.

reply

The New Girl in Town was actually written for the Broadway show, but was cut. So it was re-used for the film adaptation.

reply

I had a feeling The Big Dollhouse was cut when they didn't cast the matron and said Rosie O'Donnell was only playing the gym teacher but another thing I noticed is that it seems like Corny is singing Ladies' Choice instead of Link.

"Who lives, who dies, who tells your story"

reply

I wonder why though, it's such a good song. It got cut twice, if anything I would've thought they would've kept it for this version since it is closer to the broadway show. I miss it.

reply

Is it confirmed this version is closer to the Broadway version? It looks like from the choice of songs that Tracy goes to prison, which she doesn't in the 2007 movie.

I'm a bit surprised by some of the song choices such as Velma's Choice, but not the likes of The Big Dollhouse and The New Girl in Town.

Overall I think it looks good though.

reply

Yes, this version will be closer to the Broadway show.

reply

I'm so glad they aren't doing The Big Dollhouse. I hated that scene.

I've heard The Big Dollhouse on mp3 (only saw the movie before this). Fun song but it does interrupt the storyline...I heard about the Mama I'm a Big Girl Now being shifted to the end of the film due to the requirement of a three part split screen which would be an obstacle (IN A FILM?) but it's in the proper place in this TV presentation.

I hope to see Cooties done within the story like I finally got to see (like in the Broadway version that others did) "Mama I'm a big girl now'(both relegated to the 2007 movie's credits) not at the end...."The Big Dollhouse" seemed to be a hard thing to set up outside live (non broadcast stage..) as I said elsewhere, I've heard an mp3 of the song and seen it on Yoube..it deserves bbe edited it:
Penny Pingleton:"Tracy I hate to mope and I hate to grouse..but it's YOUR fault we're IN this big dollhouse."
