The "Behind the Scenes" Live Shots During the Breaks

This was something that annoyed me about "Grease Live!" on Fox earlier in the year, and it seems like NBC has copied that (I don't remember them doing this before). Shots of the cast members hopping on carts and all of that.

I mean it's interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes, but I think it kind of detracts from the performance really when you see it going on *during* the show (a kind of "breaking the forth wall" thing, if I remember that concept and phrase correctly).

One should never ever be taken out of the story and I have NO idea who thought all that was a good idea.

I was really, really sad to see the fourth wall breaking, especially the cast members getting onto golf carts. I hated it. I don't want that.

If the network needed filler, there was a number of other things that could have been done. Taking the audience out of the story should never be done. Thanks for bringing this up.

^Couldn't have said it better myself.

If the network wanted filler, I would have done fun trivia facts from 1962, stuff about major sporting events, the top songs, which TV shows were top 10, which movies won the Oscars, price of common household goods (especially in Baltimore), and things like that.

I bet that's done to squash accusations that the show is not done live in the first place, 'cause it'll be just a matter of time before those posts begin- even on this site lol.
