So BYE BYE BIRDIE Is Next
I was hoping for FLOWER DRUM SONG, but whatever.
shareim stoked for bye bye birdie! one of my fav shows :)
shareAs long as they stay faithful to the original broadway production and pretend 99% of the movie didn't exist, I'm okay. If they feel they must include the song "Bye Bye Birdie," they can, but that better be the only original thing from the movie they include. "Bye Bye Birdie" is a great stage show with a horrible movie version.
"Forget reality, give me a picture"-Remington Steele
I agree. I so preferred the 90s ABC production as it was no longer the Kim McAfee show.

Really?!?! I love Bye-Bye Birdy (the play). That will be good!

I wish they would do Little Shop of Horrors live! That would be great!
Don't bother sweating over your bills, in the end we all wind up in the hole!
I want to see what they do with Oliver!.
shareI love Bye Bye Birdie so I can't wait! Hearing the song "Bye Bye Birdie" in the promo gives me hope that it'll be included in the show since it's from the movie and not the original stage production. I think Grease Live took bits from both the movie and stage version.
I was thinking the same thing about Little Shop, but I read where it is being remade as a movie.

Not today Satan, not today
Jeez, why do we need a THIRD movie version?
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
I wonder if they'll use the original ending or the happy ending.
shareI was hoping for Titanic, but Flower Drum Song might have been good. I don't want to see Bye Bye Birdie.
shareBYE BYE BIRDIE will be the lowest rated live musical yet.
Most people I know have never heard of it.
I can see why they picked the HUGELY popular Sound of Music, Peter Pan, Grease, even The Wiz.
But BBB???
Bad choice.
Oh what a day! What a lovely day!
Love the movie, saw it 5 times in one week. Using Ann-Margret's voice in promo gave me goosebumps.
A very lively film musical. (Have never seen stage show to compare.)
ABC TV version was just alright.
Nothing could be a worse choice than PETER PAN.
shareCool; Bye Bye Birdie is fun. We love you, Conrad, oh yes we dooo...
Okay, so there are favorite shows of mine that I'd have voted for first (Little Shop of Horrors, The Producers, Mamma Mia!, Into the Woods, Chicago, Sweeney Todd, Cats [now wouldn't THAT be an interesting one to see done this way?! Nonhuman characters are so very rare...although, it is currently back on Broadway...]) But it's a good pick. =]
