Couple of Easter Eggs

They had Waters Plumbing company as well as Divine Pet Supply with a Pink Flamingo neon sign
Nice touch

Divine Pet Shop was Awesome! He would have been proud. I was kinda hoping John Waters would have played the flasher in the opening number, but ....

I saw a sign that said, "O'Donnell's," and one that said "Divine" as well. (Nice nod to the original HS.)

"More cowbell!"...Christopher Walken

That's cool I missed that. I plan to rewatch it on Hulu with family soon.

Great catch!!

reply

Oh! That's so cool! I never catch that stuff on the first viewing. I still seem to meet people who didn't know there was a film before the musical, though. Divine really kind of ruined anyone else for me in that role.

There was also a Bono's sign near the Divine Pet Food sign as a nod to the 1988 movie co-star Sonny Bono.

EDIT : on a second viewing I noticed that the sign doesn't say "Bono's". What I saw was the bottom half of a vertical sign that says "BAIL BONDS". The capital "D" in BONDS looked like an "O" when I first saw it.

And a Greenblatt's sign for NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt.

I don't know what they have to say. It makes no difference anyway. Whatever it is, I'm against it.

Divine Pet Supply is absolutely hysterical if you know what Divine is really famous for.

reply

LOL, yes I know.

reply

Oh, good point.

It was fun explaining to my mom why I was smiling and laughing at the Pet Shop sign. I might have to make her watch Pink Flamingos.

reply

Saw that right away and I was just gushing! I loved this movie as a child and was tickled to see this.
