DVD release -- will they correct technical errors?

The only other live musical I've watched aside from this one was Grease, which also had a few technical issues with mic feeds cutting out, etc. My question is: do they correct these problems for the DVD releases? Perhaps by dubbing over the cut off lines with the studio recordings that were done, etc?

Also -- they clearly filmed some of the dress rehearsals (for the commercials, etc.) where I'm sure they were able to get multiple takes of things. Do you think they'll put that on the DVD as a special feature?

Been wondering the same. Will the DVD recording be EXACTLY what we saw on TV? Will there be any additions/bonus features?

I bought the DVD and can tell you they DID fix audio and lighting issues, PLUS I've noticed they fixed if someone hit a flat note they fixed it in editing. Much better than than the actual live version.

Oh, wow, that's nice of them to have done.

Thank you very much for the reply!!

I understand they DID fix the problems for the DVD....but I just purchased the HD version from VUDU and the issues were NOT fixed there. I hope they switch the current TV version with the edited version.

I am back to update my last post. Since I posted that, a CORRECTED version has replaced the UN-CORRECTED version on Vudu.

I ALMOST bought the DVD at Walmart yesterday, but looked up reviews to make sure it was a corrected version. Then I pulled up my copy on Vudu and double-checked and noticed that NOW....it's been corrected.

As I re-watched it last night ,I noticed that EVERYTHING sounds SO MUCH BETTER than the original broadcast, even LINK sounds pretty decent, as opposed to his poor performance on the big night (due to being sick).

Yes, the DVD is MUCH improved, but sadly, this isn't available on blu ray, ONLY DVD in SD.

But the corrected VUDU version IS in HD. So, honestly, THAT'S the best way to view this.
A live performance like this is best in HD.

Haven't watched the DVD, but DID watch the re-broadcast which had fixed audio issues and camera shots fixed. Examples: Kristin Chenoweth's bow was reinstated, where in the original Broadcast it cut away from her. When Motormouth enters for 'You Can't Stop The Beat', in the original broadcast her line "Step Aside Miss Buttercup, It's time to wrap this mutha up!" cut out midway, with only the "Step Aside Miss Buttercup" being heard and Jennifer moving her mouth with nothing heard for the rest of the line. Also, The scene where the Hairspray can is rolled out and Velma confronts Wilbur about it is a COMPLETELY different take (my guess from a dress rehearsal), not just a different angle, but an entirely different take. than the one in the first broadcast.
