Portrayal of Sex abuse of Raghav

Wud love to know ur thoughts on Raghav's sexual abuse during childhood. I think it was presented in a very subtle n exemplary manner.
Personally I loved the film as I feel its India's first hardcore serial killer film, made with no compromise what so ever. Anurag kashyap leads the game by a huge margin.

Actually it was Raman who was sexually abused as a child. Remember during the climax, he reveals that Chacha (the drug-dealer) used to sexually abuse him when he was a kid.

reply

That was so obvious my friend as it comes in the form of a dialogue but I m talking about Raghav. His abuse is told to the audience in a very concealed manner. Try to watch it again my friend and you will appreciate it. Cheers

reply

Well, I have seen the movie more than four times but I didn't feel Raghav was sexually abused during his childhood. Anyway I'll watch it again to see what I'm missing.

reply

Hey Salaman,
please check out the altercation scene between Raghav and his Dad. The point where Raghav gives him a hard stare and his Dad looks away.

reply

His father told one incident of his childhood. That is child abuse only not sexual abuse.

reply

Right.
But I must correct one thing here. Child abuse is a broad term which covers both physical and sexual abuse. So, Raghavan was abused physically. Not sexually.

reply

I'm not a fan of Bollywood films, but this looks excellent. Looks worthy of watching.

reply

it surely is !!

Child Abuse ... not sexual abuse i feel . His dad was very very strict with him. Their was no signs i could think of where the film tried to potray that raghvan was sexually abused .
He was a bigdail charsi .

Btw i loved the movie , i feel Nawaz deserves the best actor award , may be national award , may be an oscar :D . idk but he was just minnddd blowing .

I think this deleted scene nails Raghav's inner chaos perfectly...

Essentially, that is the point of the film- both the cop and the murderer are seriously damaged from the inside and somewhere along their individual trails, they are bound to unite as one evil entity....the film is a celebration of nihilism but it is also a scathing portrait of society rotten from the core and Kashyap really nailed this one...

Thanks zzzoeb ,
I had no idea about this scene. They shud hv included this in the movie as it wud hv been great for the character development of Raghav. Thanks for sharing bud. Cheers

reply

Anytime buddy...I also feel that this scene should have been added...it would have then revealed that how badly damaged Raghav was....and how he was doomed to be united to the equally battered Ramanna..
